Awful Death of a Farmer

While Peter Stonberg, a farmer living nine miles east of Stromsburg, was cutting corn stalks, the horses he was driving became unmanageable, and in the runaway Stonburg fell in front of the cutter and became entangled in the knives, and was horribly mangled. When the horses were stopped by neighbors, it required some fifteen minutes to extricate the body from the machine. He lived but a few minutes after being released.
